Author, historian and advocate Sarah Prager shares little-known stories from queer history and why they matter in celebration of Banned Books Week and LGBTQ+ History Month.
About the author:
Sarah Prager is an advocate for queer history education particularly for youth. She is the author of four books on LGBTQ+ history for children and teens: "Queer, There, and Everywhere," "Rainbow Revolutionaries: 50 LGBTQ+ People Who Made History", "Kind Like Marsha: Learning from LGBTQ+ Leaders," and "A Child’s Introduction to Pride: The Inspirational History and Culture of the LGBTQIA+ Community." Her writing has appeared in many high-profile national outlets. Sarah has been an activist since she came out at the age of 14. Her creation of the popular queer history mobile app Quist has gotten her invited to the White House, U.S. embassies in Mexico and India, and the offices of Twitter, Google, and Microsoft. She has worked for queer rights organizations from Boston to Bulgaria.
