Writers working on long-form projects are invited to submit their work in advance of these monthly sessions where group members will help each other develop their work through constructive criticism.
Committed writers at least 18 years old who are working on long-form projects, including novels and screenplays, are welcome.
Submit work to kdorman@princetonlibrary.org a week prior to the workshops which are on the first Sunday of the month.
Each two-hour session is dedicated to critique and discussion. Members are expected to read the submissions and be prepared with thoughtful comments.
Up to three submissions of 15 pages or fewer will be covered during each session, allowing adequate time for feedback on each piece. To help facilitate in-depth discussion, the number of members per session is limited to 12.
The goal of the workshop is to provide a space where writers feel comfortable sharing their work, but also grow and learn from challenging, well intentioned criticism. While not required, this group focuses on writers aspiring to a publishable standard. Moderators reserve the right to prohibit work they deem counterproductive to the workshop's goals.
Any work submitted should not be shared, including with large language models, without the consent of its author, and members who do so are subject to removal from the group.
These guidelines may evolve as the workshop progresses.
