All are invited to take part in a community reading of A.A. Milne's "Winnie-the-Pooh," a beloved classic of short stories for all ages first published 100 years ago.
We're kicking off National Library Week 2026 by taking part in Right to Read Day, an annual event dedicated to raising awareness and taking action to protect the freedom to read and access books without censorship.
All week, we will commemorate the centennial of the publication of "Winnie-the-Pooh." In addition to being a beloved book by many, it has also faced challenges. The book, which is a series of short stories, will be read in its entirety starting at 11:30 a.m.
All are invited and encouraged to attend — individuals, groups, teachers, students and book clubs. Drop-in readers and listeners are welcome.
Sign up for a time slot using this form or by calling the Reference Desk at (609) 924-9529, ext. 1220. We will contact you by April 15 to confirm your time slot.
National Library Week's theme for 2026 is "Find Your Joy," an invitation for people of all background to explore and discover what sparks joy in them at the library. Find your joy at the library as we honor a century of Pooh and the timeless magic of books.
