Families are invited to join Ms. Payne, a board member of the Stoutsburg Sourland African American Museum, for an engaging, interactive reading of the story based on her childhood. Ms. Payne grew up on Sourland Mountain, in what is now the Reasoner True House, on the campus of the Stoutsburg Sourland African American Museum. The book, by Ryan Jillian Kilpatrick, celebrates Black farming history and resilience, focusing on themes of home and heritage. Attend this program and learn more about the work of SSAAM to preserve local African American history.
