Kids: Poem in Your Pocket Workshop

Create and decorate a special pouch to carry, share, or gift a pocket-sized poem in celebration of Poem in Your Pocket Day. No registration needed.

Poem in Your Pocket Day takes place every year during National Poetry Month. This fun workshop will include a chance to write a poem or choose from a selection of beloved poems to put in the handcrafted poem pockets once they are completed. 

It’s easy to for everyone to participate in Poem in Your Pocket Day. Here are some ideas from the Academy of American Poets of how you might get involved:

• Select a poem and share it on social media using the hashtag #PocketPoem.
• Email a poem to your friends, family, neighbors, or local government leaders.
• Add a poem to your email footer.
• Read a poem out loud from your porch, window, backyard or outdoor space.
