In advance of the opening of the new musical "Dreaming Zenzile" by Somi Kakoma, Mika Kaurismäki’s 2011 documentary biography on the iconic “Zenzile” herself: South African singer, activist, and international star, Miriam Makeba will be shown.
"Mama Africa" is a dynamic documentary that traces Makeba’s life and 50-year career in music through rare archival footage of her performances, press conferences and intimate moments, and features interviews with her family, friends, collaborators, and those whose careers she inspired and influenced.
