This new book group series discusses memoirs, starting with "Knife: Meditations After An Attempted Murder" by Salman Rushdie. This session presented in partnership with Princeton University Concerts.

The library is partnering with Princeton University Concerts for our inaugural session of this new book group series. This discussion is offered in advance of Pianist Mishka Rushdie Momen: In Conversation and Performance with Princeton University Concerts on Nov. 1. Mishka Rushdie Momen is the niece of author Salman Rushdie.

Sept. 23: "Knife: Meditations After An Attempted Murder" by Salman Rushdie 

About the book:

Speaking out for the first time...about the traumatic events of Aug. 12, 2022, Salman Rushdie answers violence with art, and reminds us of the power of words to make sense of the unthinkable. Knife is a...meditation on life, loss, love, art-and finding the strength to stand up again.
