Ruha Benjamin and Nesanet Abegaze host a screening of films focused on what friendship can make possible — personally, politically and collectively.
From the presenters:
This community screening features short films created by Princeton students in African American studies that explore how intimate bonds become sites of care, experimentation and world-building. Drawing inspiration from Black writers and artists, these works ask how friendship can move us from theory into practice—especially at a moment when rising fascist forces seek to isolate us and fracture the social fabric.
Hosted by Ruha Benjamin and Nesanet Abegaze, this screening offers visions of connection as radical, generative acts—where “loving correction,” mutual care and shared imagination open pathways toward more expansive ways of living together.
Bring a close friend and experience these stories side by side.
