Princeton Chief of Police Chris Tash discusses the role of the Princeton Police Department press officer and available resources for department-related inquiries.
Sessions of the Community Newsroom are intended for current and aspiring journalists and feature an invited speaker discussing a topic of interest to the group with an opportunity for Q&A. The presentation will be followed by further discussion, workshopping specific pieces, or open discussion of additional topics.
About the speaker:
Chris Tash has 24 years of service with the Princeton Police Department and currently holds the position of Chief of Police. Throughout his career, he has taken on various roles, including serving as the Department's Social Media Coordinator and Public Information Officer. In his role as Public Information Officer, he acted as the department’s primary spokesperson, responsible for communicating police-related information and educating the public. He will be discussing how the police department manages information dissemination and the types of information that can be shared.
