Faculty from the New School for Music Study (NSMS) in Kingston present a series of four lecture recitals, in which they play and discuss historic repertoire for the piano.
"Impressions of Childhood: Akira Yuyama’s Piano Works for Children"
Pianist Dr. Xiaoya Gao offers a lecture-recital exploring the charming and imaginative piano works of Akira Yuyama. Drawn from his collections for children, these pieces reflect elements of nature, Japanese culture, and childhood experiences, offering a window into Yuyama’s unique musical storytelling and educational vision.
