Representatives of Arm in Arm connect with the community and share information about their work on food and housing insecurity and how to volunteer.
From Arm in Arm:
Arm In Arm’s Hunger Prevention Program serves between 1,200 individuals on a weekly basis. Between two food pantries (Trenton and Princeton) and our mobile pantry model, using our food truck at a partnering off-site location to distribute food. We house most of our food inventory at our main location in Hamilton.
It takes 70-80 volunteers on a weekly basis to support this operation between all sites.
We are in urgent need of volunteers through the next few months, especially Tuesdays through Thursdays at our Trenton mobile pantries, Hamilton and Princeton locations.
Volunteers could expect to be doing some of the following:
· Greeting/ signing in/ registering and scanning QR codes from clients (name, home address, #, primary income)
· Prepare grocery bags with non-perishable goods for later distribution
· Preparing and replenishing bags of fresh produce, frozen meats and eggs during distribution
· Assist with sorting incoming donations
· Logging basic client information into our database
· Assist with organizing inventory
· Breaking down recyclable boxes
· Help with breakdown/ cleaning before the session is over
