This documentary explores the mystery of a beluga whale, equipped with surveillance gear, who approached Norwegian fisherman in 2019. 1 hour, 30 minutes. Screening followed by Q&A with the filmmaker.

In spring, 2019, a beluga whale, believed to have escaped a Russian military base, appeared in Northern Norway, becoming a social media phenomenon. Fascinated by him, a French cetacean researcher, his daughter, a Norwegian journalist and a marine biologist embark on an extraordinary adventure with the whale, dubbed Hvaldimir, through the Norwegian fjords.

The screening will be followed by a Q&A with filmmaker, Jérôme Delafosse.

Jérôme Delafosse was born on May 2, 1971, in Saint-Malo, Ille-et-Vilaine, France. He is an actor and director, known for Les requins de la colère (2015), Le miel et les abeilles (1992) and #hvaldimir - La Véritable histoire du beluga espion (2024).

Presented in partnership with the French Film Festival.
