About the film:
Between light and darkness stands Olfa, a Tunisian woman and the mother of four daughters. One day, her two older daughters disappear. Filmmaker Kaouther Ben Hania invites professional actresses to fill in their absence. One of the most critically lauded films of this past year, "Four Daughters" is a compelling portrait that explores the nature of memory, the weight of inherited trauma, and the ties that bind mothers and daughters. With subtitles.
Unrated. 1 hour, 47 minutes.
