The author shares highlights from her book "Your Best Financial Life: Save Smart Now for the Future You Want" in conversation with local small business owner Gus Canzano.

Join us for a discussion with Anne Lester, former head of retirement solutions for JPMorgan Asset Management, author and keynote speaker, as she shares highlights from her latest book, "Your Best Financial Life: Save Smart Now for the Future You Want." The conversation will be moderated by Gus Canzano, a local small business owner and Millennial, who has first-hand experience as an individual and an employer of the challenges faced by Millennials and GenZ today when it comes to managing their finances and saving for the future.

Topics will include: 

  • Why saving is hard and how it’s not your fault.
  • Practical steps to save for a rainy day and your retirement without compromising on your current lifestyle.
  • Actionable strategies to manage debt while saving for life’s major milestones.
  • How to maximize the potential of 401(k)s, IRAs, and other retirement savings tools to meet your personal goals.
     

Whether you’re just starting to think about saving, looking to optimize your current financial plan, or hoping to help someone in your life who is struggling with their finances, this event will equip you with the knowledge and tools you need to lay the foundation for a prosperous financial future and to have better conversations to help you and yours live the best financial life possible.

About the presenters: 

Anne Lester is a media commentator and speaker who’s on a mission to help Americans of all walks of life achieve a safe and secure retirement. Hailed as a “pioneer and innovator” by the financial services company Morningstar, Anne has worked on all aspects of retirement for the past 30 years. Most recently, she spent15n years as head of retirement solutions for JPMorgan Asset Management, where she traveled the country and spoke to tens of thousands of investors. She is a regular contributor on an array of retirement issues for CNBC, Bloomberg TV, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, and additional industry publications.

Gus Canzano, 31, is the owner of Canzano Custom Homes & Restoration, a painting and construction company focused on restoration and remodeling of historic homes as well as new construction. Through industry and frugality, Gus was able to become the owner of a multi-family home in Lambertville at age 28.

This event is co-sponsored by the library and Labyrinth Books.
