An opening reception for “Through the Storm: Finding Home," the art and poetry exhibit created by homeless individuals in HomeFront's ArtSpace therapeutic program, is hosted by HomeFront.
The parents of young children who found HomeFront in Mercer County during the darkest time of their lives have created this exhibit hoping it will help engage and educate. They are inviting visitors to feel some of what families experience in the bruising chaos of homelessness and to recognize the efforts necessary to build a new future of dignity, safety and independence for their families.
The reception and opening remarks will be held in the 1st floor community room at 6:30 p.m. prior to the official opening of the exhibit in the Reading Room. Staff from HomeFront and the artists featured in this exhibit will be on hand through 7:30 p.m. to answer questions and discuss the exhibit.
The exhibition runs from Oct. 23 to Dec. 31 in the Reading Room.
