The "Schooner Apollonia" delivers goods up and down the Hudson River sans fossil fuels, powered only by the wind and sun. 40 minutes.
Charismatic Captain Sam Merrett and his "Schooner Apollonia" take on a Quixotic adventure, delivering goods up and down the Hudson River sans fossil fuels, powered only by the wind and the sun. A ten-year-in-the-making project, this Anti-Amazon way of supplying corn, grain, malt, pumpkins, red oak, coffee beans and even a printing press is making a big impression on the Hudson Valley. Currently it is the only sail-freight boat operating exclusively in U.S. waters. For now. 40 minutes.
The screening will be followed by a Q&A with filmmaker Jon Bowermaster.
