This ensemble, veterans of the regional club and festival circuit, performs traditional music of Colombia on Hinds Plaza to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month.

Hugo Lascarro Sr., Hugo Lascarro Jr., José Lozano, Felipe Passantino and Salvatore Carollo founded Viva Vallenato to share their love of the electrifying, dance-friendly folkloric music of Colombia. These happy songs contain the cultural memory of a people with roots in the Americas, Africa and Europe. The band will share the stories behind the music during the concert. In the event of rain, the concert will take place on October 14, 2021 at 6:30pm.
