This session introduces ways to lengthen the lifespan of clothing with some visible mending techniques that can be done with a few simple tools.
What is visible mending? In simplest terms, it is mending that you can see. Visible mending can be done by anyone, even beginners (unlike invisible mending, which is done by skilled artisans). This popular mending technique decreases waste in landfills and allows you to express your creativity.
Marisa Simon will lead this hands-on session and participants will have the opportunity to try their hand at darning, embroidery, Shashiko and other techniques. All materials will be supplied.
