The library joins Morven as it commemorates Independence Day, reflecting on history, civic engagement and community at this annual festival.
The library will have a variety of hands-on activities and picture books about colonial America to browse or read together as a family. Information about our Summer Reading programs for those who have yet to sign up.
Activities include crafting patriotic bracelets, making red, white and blue bookmarks and the chance to create and play with a whirligig - the colonial fidget toy.
The 2024 festival will feature: community partners hosting family-friendly activities and crafts inspired by themes of history, civics, and service; tours of Morven’s gardens; live music from the Vintage Vibe Tribe; food from Oink & Moo BBQ, The Empanada Guy, and Kona Ice; face painting with Maya B. the "Facepaint Fairy"; an opportunity to sign the Declaration of Independence; and much more.
