PRESENTER BIOS PROVIDED BY PRINCETON SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA
Georgia Stitt is a composer, lyricist, music producer and pianist. Her original musicals include “Snow Child,” “Big Red Sun” (Harold Arlen Award), “The Danger Year,” “Samantha Spade, Ace Detective” (winner of the Outstanding New Musical aware from the National Youth Theatre), “The Water” (winner of the 2008 ANMT Search for New Voices in American Musical Theatre), and “Mosaic.” She is writing a collection of theatrical art songs, a new show called “The Big Boom” and an oratorio to be developed at Princeton University, where she is a lecturer in musical theater. She is the founder of MAESTRA, an organization that provides support, visibility, and community to the women and nonbinary people who make the music in the musical theater industry.
A passionate music educator, Jessica Morel was appointed music director of the Greater Princeton Youth Orchestra in July 2021. In addition to her experience as a youth orchestra conductor, Morel served as the assistant conductor for the Winston-Salem Symphony for three seasons, and as the visiting director of orchestralactivities at the University of Evansville.
