Meet our Featured Thrifters:

Amita Akshinthala  [Find her on Instagram: @theskatinghost Amita is a casual thrifter who may not be able to visit stores often, but continuously finds ways to reuse and remake unused clothing. She is an advocate for sustainable clothing and often speaks out against the “fast fashion” industry. She created the Take it Back web site to spread awareness about the impact of fast fashion on the environment.

Alessandra Braghelli [Find her on Instagram: @unaromanainamericaAlessandra was born and raised in Rome, Italy and has been a thrifter since she was a teenager. She’s always been fascinated by historic art and fashion trends of the past. She loves to give old and forgotten clothing a second chance and her wardrobe essentials are unexpected, preloved pieces carefully chosen to add extra personality to her unique style. Alessandra believes in self expression, she knows how to make a fashion statement with her outfits and knows exactly what she’s looking for when she goes to the thrift store!

Vivian Clayton: Vivian thrifts fairly often because she loves the opportunity it provides her to be creative with her outfits. She often goes to local stores with friends, and also enjoys thrifting on vacation to see the different styles of different locations.

Brit Godish [Find her on Instagram: @DollihazeBrit is a semi-regular thrifter who recently discovered the magic of thrifting through her mother and a production designer friend. Thrifting has given her a way to keep her wardrobe fresh and to experiment with styles at a fraction of the retail price. Brit works as a graphic designer for commercials, print and film.

Carina He: Although Carina doesn't shop often, she loves to go thrifting locally whenever she gets the chance to. She takes pleasure in being able to upcycle clothes through a way that can also mitigate the environmental detriments of fast fashion production.

Ayzia James [Find her on Instagram: @Ayzia_] Ayzia is a Princeton based Fashion and Lifestyle blogger that likes to mix thrifted finds into her outfits for unique looks. She also enjoys shopping for designer bags and shoes in consignment stores. Her fiancé has a Vintage business that is locally based which features thrifted Sports and Music jerseys and tees. It’s called Knick Knack Vintage and can be found on Instagram at @knickknackvtg.

Jamie Ng Rose [Find her on Instagram:@jamiengroseJamie is a casual thrifter and mom of 4 who loves the thrill of finding classic styles, vintage gems, and designer brands for a steal. She especially loves thrifting her vacation wardrobes and clothing for her ever-growing kids.

Cassie Smith: Cassie discovered and immediately fell in love with thrifting as a teenager in New York City, often finding hidden gems to jazz to her drab school uniform! Now that she has teenagers of her own, her entire family enjoys thrifting together. Cassie loves adding pieces to her wardrobe that help to accent her style and personality. When she's not in a garden center oohing and aahing over houseplants, you can find Cassie in a thrift store, often including her husband and friends on her excursions.
