Drop in any time during this program to help review and verify the transcribed 1950 census to increase access to these historical records.
Ancestry and FamilySearch have used cutting-edge technology to scan and index 150 million handwritten responses from the recently released 1950 U.S. Census. However, the resulting searchable text is not perfect and still needs additional review. Join us for this nationwide effort to verify and correct the transcription and help bring to light the hidden stories of people of all backgrounds in the United States.
This is a drop-in program, and registration is not required. Participants can create or use a personal FamilySearch account or can log in using a general library account. Mac computers will be available, but participants can also use their own computers or devices.
This program is presented in partnership with the Princeton University Library.
