El Internet y el mundo en línea pueden ser espacios que causan miedo. En esta clase bilingüe, hablaremos de:

  • Cómo reconocer páginas web seguras e inseguras
  • Consejos para crear buenas contraseñas y cómo hacer un seguimiento de ellas
  • Fraude en línea, estafas y phishing; así como consejos para reconocerlos y saber cómo evitarlos
  • Medidas de seguridad para sus cuentas personales en línea, como las de correo electrónico, bancos y redes sociales

In this bilingual class, we will go over:

  • How to recognize safe and unsafe websites
  • Tips for good passwords and how to keep track of them
  • Online fraud, scams and phishing, and tips to recognize them and how to avoid them
  • Safety for your personal accounts such as email, banking and social media
  • The basics of cybersecurity, and common words and phrases and their meanings.
  • Tips and resources for keeping children safe online 

Anyone who attends will receive a voucher for a free Mercer County Community ID Card and a ShopRite or McCaffrey’s gift card. Refreshments will be provided before and after the class. 

We invite your children–ages 8 and up-to join us for a free games & crafts program on the 3rd floor, in our STEAM studio, running at the same time as the classes.

Please note this class is bilingual. Content will be taught in both English and Spanish. 

This class is made possible through a Public Library Association (PLA) Digital Literacy Grant and is supported by the library, Public Library Association and AT&T.
