Sally El-Sadek of the IRC Welcome Corps and students from Princeton Univ.'s Service Focus program discuss their work and how others can help. Welcome kits for new U.S. arrivals will be assembled.
Community members are invited to learn about the New Jersey Chapter of the International Rescue Committee, an organization committed to helping people affected by humanitarian crises—including the climate crisis—to survive, recover and rebuild their lives. The IRC works in over 50 crisis-affected countries as well as communities throughout Europe and the Americas. Discover the different ways you can join this effort with the IRC’s Welcome Corps including hosting kit-making events, sponsoring a family being resettled in the United States, becoming a volunteer intern and more.
Materials to assemble hygiene kits for those arriving to the U.S. and write notes to welcome new neighbors will be provided. Light refreshments will be served.
This event is made possible with sponsorship from the Pace Center, the Muslim Life Program, SPIA in NJ and other student groups. Registration requested.
