Pi Day Matinee

The 1994 romantic comedy, about the unlikely romance of Albert Einstein’s fictional niece and an auto mechanic, was filmed in and around Princeton. Part of Pi Day observance. PG. 1 hour, 35 minutes.

Thirtieth anniversary screening for Pi Day of this classic film starring Tim Robbins, Meg Ryan, and featuring Walter Matthau as Einstein.

The movie, set in the 1950s, tells the story of a love-struck mechanic romancing the highly intelligent niece of Albert Einstein by passing himself off as a physicist. He does so with the help of the father of modern physics himself, and his friends.

Vanilla ice cream with chocolate sprinkles will be served starting at 2:45 p.m in honor of Einstein's birthday. According to research done by the Historical Society of Princeton, the first thing Einstein did when he arrived in Princeton in 1933 was visit the Baltimore Dairy Lunch (aka “The Balt”) to buy a vanilla cone with chocolate sprinkles.
