A virtual discussion of the historical context for Susanne Pari's “In the Time of Our History” is facilitated by Negin Nabavi, associate professor of history, Montclair State University.

Get immersed in the world of a historical time and place, and then engage with a scholar to learn the “real” story. At meetings of the Historical Fiction Book Group, scholars participate in discussions of the fictional elements and the nonfictional context of selected books.

About the book: Laced with the richness of ancient and modern Persian culture and politics, the novel is a “beautifully crafted story of mothers and daughters, secrets and lies, and defying expectations—even when those choices come with an irrevocable cost.”  

Book group sessions are not recorded.
