In this presentation, Sam McCleery tells the story behind the ESPN brand, how the 1979 startup was created and how they have become part of the entertainment and cultural landscape. McCleery will trace the arc of founding, examine key decisions, leadership and threats, and make some predictions about the future.
Sam McCleery has produced tennis events at The White House, founded the first augmented reality company in sports and received an Emmy Award for his work associated with the Yellow First and Ten Line for football broadcasts. He has worked for sports brands including Prince Tennis, Adidas (France), and Under Armour, as well as the sports media companies PVI, Cablevision and ESPN.
