This month's presentation will focus on the escalation of hate crimes toward Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders and efforts to address them. Small group discussions follow the presentation.
Presenters Dr. Kani Ilangovan and Dr. Ying Lu will also discuss the origin of and damage caused by the model minority myth; unknown Asian American and Pacific Islander history; and Asian American and Black solidarity during the time of Frederick Douglass and the Chinese Exclusion Act, during the Civil Rights Movement and in the present.
Presented in partnership with Not In Our Town Princeton.
This program is part of Welcoming Week.
