Steve Hiltner and Phil Orr perform original compositions ranging in style from jazz to samba to funk, combining fresh melodies, inventive arrangements and improvisation.
Steve Hiltner, known in Princeton for his nature writing and founding of the Friends of Herrontown Woods, is also a talented composer and performer on saxophone and clarinet. For Sustainable Jazz, he teams up with Phil Orr on piano to present a concert of original music ranging from jazz to samba to tango.
The name Sustainable Jazz comes from Steve's lifelong environmental work. Performances are suffused with humor and positivity, without which no musician/environmentalist could survive.
