Lois Marie Harrod leads this four-session workshop for intermediate poets looking to refine their craft and share their work with others. Sound, language, line and audience will be considered.
If you are an intermediate poet who has been writing awhile, perhaps have published a few poems and are looking for writing ideas, then this four-week workshop is designed for you. Each 1.5 hour session will include
Emphasis will be on both reading poems as a source for writing poems and on revision techniques.
Techniques to be covered each week are as follows:
Week One: Drop a mouse into a poem (use the random)
Week Two: Duplicate the mouse (write you own version of a poem)
Week Three: Let the mouse sing his own squeak (use a persona)
Week Four: Bring in the mouse chorus (use repetition)
About the Instructor:
Lois Marie Harrod’s "Spat" was published by Finishing Line Press in May 2021, and her 17th collection "Woman" was published by Blue Lyra in February 2020.
