A discussion of Aeham Ahmad's memoir, "The Pianist from Syria," is held in advance of Princeton University Concerts' event with Syrian clarinetist Kinan Azmeh and artist Kevork Mourad.
An additional discussion of "The Pianist from Syria" will be held on Zoom at 7 p.m.
Discussions will culminate in a keynote Zoom event on Wednesday, Sept. 4, at 7 p.m. with Deborah Amos, National Public Radio international correspondent, whose reporting on the Middle East and refugees in the U.S. is regularly featured on NPR. Beyond the Concert Book Group participants will be automatically registered for the keynote and will have the opportunity to pre-submit questions to Amos.
Presented in partnership with Princeton University Concerts in advance of the "Healing with Music" performance on Sept. 26 of "Home Within," an audio-visual project created in response to the Syrian revolution and its aftermath. The performance features Syrian clarinetist Kinan Azmeh and live illustration by Kevork Mourad and is moderated by Deborah Amos.
