Harold Kuskin, Evergreen Forum instructor and former Metropolitan Opera backstage tour guide, delivers a lecture with musical clips examining love songs in opera.
Love has been an integral part of opera from the very beginnings of the art form, and some of opera’s most beautiful and inspiring melodies can be found in love scenes. Using video clips from opera performances, Harold Kuskin will explore a variety of expressions of love in works from the 17th through 20th centuries. He will explain their common features as well as their differences.
Presented in partnership with The Princeton Festival.
