Students in grades 4-12 learn to make bread from scratch at home using ingredients supplied by the library. The recipe makes two loaves, one to keep and one to share as an act of kindness.
A Bake for Good instructor presents a live, virtual 45-minute bread baking demonstration and answers questions during this interactive program teaching students how to bake bread at home with ingredients supplied by the library. This class is demonstration only - students will not bake their bread during this session.
Students who register will pick up a baking kit from the library containing all the ingredients needed to bake two loaves of bread, one to keep and one to share with someone in need or as an act of kindness. Registrants will be notified by email when the baking kits are ready for pickup at Express Services at the library. Baking kits will not be mailed.
Registration is required and limited to 25 students in fourth grade through twelfth grade. A Zoom link will be emailed to registrants on the day of the program.
Co-sponsored by the library and the King Arthur Baking Company as part of its Bake for Good program.
