Learn more about internationally known singer, actor, scholar, athlete and activist Paul Robeson as guest readers share books about his life.

Princeton High School student Hailey Hawes reads "Grandpa Stops a War," the true story of Paul Robeson’s visit to the front lines of the Spanish Civil War - and a tale of courage and activism - written by his granddaughter, Susan Robeson.

Premiering on April 6, this recording will be available on the library's YouTube channel. For children in first through fifth grade. Available for on-demand viewing for a limited time.

Dr. Joy Barnes-Johnson of Princeton High School presents an abridged reading of "Ballad of an American: A Graphic Biography of Paul Robeson"  by Sharon Rudahl. The first graphic biography of Robeson charts his  life and career and features beautifully drawn chapters by Rudahl who also wrote the text. An afterword focuses on the lasting impact of Robeson’s work in both the arts and politics.

Premiering on April 6, this recording will be available on the library's YouTube channel. For students in ninth grade and up. Available for on-demand viewing for a limited time.
