Laurie Wallmark discusses her new book "Code Breaker, Spy Hunter: How Elizebeth Friedman Changed the Course of Two World Wars" and more with author/editor Margery Cuyler.
Wallmark presents her picture book biography of code breaker Elizebeth Friedman, who smashed Nazi spy rings, took down gangsters and created the CIA's first cryptology unit. Joining Wallmark will be children’s book author and editor Margery Cuyler. The two will also talk about the process of writing books for children and getting published and answer audience questions.
Wallmark has written picture-book biographies of women in math and the sciences. She is a former software engineer and computer science professor. Her previous books include "Ada Byron Lovelace and the Thinking Machine"; "Grace Hopper: Queen of Computer Code"; and "Heddy Lamar’s Double Life: Hollywood Legend and Brilliant Inventor."
Cuyler is the author of numerous books for young readers including her most recent "Bonaparte Plays Ball and Snow Friends." She has been an editor at Henry Holt and Company and Cavendish.
