Attorney Jerold E. Rothkoff provides an overview of New Jersey's Medical Aid-In Dying law.
Last year, New Jersey became the ninth state in the nation to allow its terminally ill residents to hasten their death with prescribed medications. The goal of this presentation is to introduce attendees to the new law and educate them about the law’s practical applications. Attendees will learn:
• The legal requirements for patients to utilize medical aid in dying.
• How the law applies to their circumstances and where to seek more guidance if needed.
• Recognize different perspectives on the law, including faith-based groups, physicians, and disability rights advocates.
