“What! Would you so soon put out, with worldly hands, the light I give?”
—The Ghost of Christmas Past, Stave I
McCarter Theatre Center and the Princeton Public Library heartily say, “NO!”
We won’t let anything prevent us from ushering the spirit of the season with our annual public community reading of Dickens’ 1843 novella—now in its fifth year—so we are going virtual!
This is a wonderful opportunity to experience the beloved Victorian masterpiece—the original “Ghost-Story”—in its literary form, which Dickens’ wrote to be read aloud.
We will read the entire story from start to finish as a community via Zoom meeting. All are invited and encouraged to register—individuals, families, book clubs, and groups—and to participate virtually by reading a portion of the book for the delight of those assembled together online. All reading levels are welcomed! We hope you will join us!
