"Open Secrets," the new novel by Sheila Kohler, moves between the French Riviera, Switzerland, and Amagansett in telling how the lies between a husband and wife are revealed, unraveling their family.
Kohler will be joined by Oates, who will also discuss her recently published "Night. Sleep. Death. The Stars.," a gripping examination of contemporary America through the prism of a family tragedy.

Kohler is the author of six previous novels, including "Crossways," "The Perfect Place," "Cracks," and "Children of Pithiviers." A native of South Africa, she lives in New York and has taught creative writing at Princeton since 2008.
Oates has written some of the most enduring fiction of our time, including the national bestsellers "We Were the Mulvaneys," "Blonde," "The Falls" (winner of the 2005 Prix Femina) and "The Gravedigger’s Daughter."
